Top 5 Tiki Mugs for Piña Coladas
Following our latest Side Dish episode, Meg goes in search of the perfect tiki mug...
No matter what Brad says, I insist that a dark rum float is nonoptional when it comes to piña coladas. I also believe that kitschy barware is a must for serving tasty tropical drinks.
But, if you listened to my episode on BA’s Best Piña Coladas, you already know that I (*gasp*) don’t own a tiki mug!
Don’t get me wrong: I love my pineapple glass, but a girl needs at least one full-on tiki mug in her bar cart.
Here are just a few I’ve got my eye on.
Geeki Tikis
Surprising absolutely no one who listens to my pop culture podcast: I’m a neeerd. A nerd who loves to imbibe. So it’s like Geeki Tikis were made for me. I’m crushing on this Groot mug, but they’ve got tikis for all sorts of fandoms, including Star Wars, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, Rick and Morty, and tons more.
The Classic
I think this is the *exact* tiki glass shown in Brad’s video. Is my search complete? Should I look no further? It would almost be like Brad and I were drinking from the same glass, right?! Right. Moving on...
Trader Vic’s Blowfish Mug
Who knows tiki better than Trader Vic’s? As the self-proclaimed "Home of the Original Mai Tai,” Trader Vic’s has been renowned for its tropical libations since 1934. So I’d be in good hands with Trader Vic’s barware—like this cute and colorful blowfish mug. It may not be the traditional tiki mask look, but I adore this spiny little guy.
Kitty Tikis
Okay, don’t judge me. I love cats, I love tiki mugs, ergo...
I can totally picture myself sipping from one of these kit-tikis whenever I’m feline in the mewd for a tropical drink. Plus, it’s a set of four: purrfect for hosting all my Pod Appétit ladies.
Coconut Tiki
Did I pick this tiki-inspired coconut mug just so I’d have an excuse to use this gif? Maaaybe.
So, which tiki should I choose? How do you enjoy your piña coladas? Let me know in the comments!
